June 5th - Moving into the New Sanctuary
JUNE 5 IS THE BIG DAY FOR US TO MOVE INTO THE NEW SANCTUARY!
1. We will begin our 11am worship service in Bldg A as usual and then I will lead the congregation to the new sanctuary.
2. Reflect upon Psalm 24 where God’s people are called to enter the gates to God’s House.
3. This is not a tour of the new building but a part of our worship! Please move in quickly and toward the front and remain standing [those who are able] until we are all in and sing our first hymn.
4. There will, no doubt, be a number of things that need to be “tweaked” once we get in and see how things work. BE PATIENT!
5. Picnic after the am service and no pm service June 5.
EVERY SUNDAY…
1. 9:30am opening exercises will continue to be held in the old sanctuary [Bldg A].
2. Adult Sunday School will continue to be held in Bldg A.
3. Remember that we have several large families that would like to sit together during the worship service. Smaller family units should sit together and toward the front as much as possible. There will be no choir this year and so the balcony is available for additional seating.
4. Handicap pews are located at the front and rear.
5. No food or drinks are to be brought into the new sanctuary. This includes coffee during the worship time.
6. Please attend to personal needs [RESTROOM] prior to our worship time [children and adults].
7. A worship training room is available in the new sanctuary. This is not a nursery or a “cry room” or a place for fellowship during the worship time. It is designed for parents to train their children to take part in the public worship of God. If your child is having difficulty sitting quietly through the service, this is the place to start! Nursing mothers are welcome to use the worship training room. The nursery will still be located in Bldg B.
Now thank we all our God
With heart and hands and voices,
Who wondrous things hath done,
In whom his world rejoices;
Who from our mothers’ arms,
Hath blessed us on our way
With countless gifts of love,
And still is ours today.
