No Easy Answers: The Problem of Unanswered Prayer

A. GOD WILL NOT ALWAYS APPEAR
TO BE IN CONTROL

1. Violence

2. Conflict

3. Injustice

B. GOD WILL NOT ALWAYS ANSWER YOUR PRAYERS

1. Sometimes we ask for the wrong thing

2. Sometimes we ask with wrong desires

3. Sometimes we pray with our faith in the wrong place

C. GOD WILL NOT ALWAYS EXPLAIN
WHAT HE’S DOING

1. Prayer is more than just getting things from God

2. Prayer is more than just asking

3. Prayer is more than just talking

What are we to do?

Your prayer…even when it goes unanswered…

1. Demonstrates your faith

2. Expresses is your faith

Quotes of note...

Wilberforce, Lord Shaftesbury, and many other evangelicals, have been leaders in social reform, but it was not their religion. Their efforts succeeded because they put first things first, and believed firmly in the Word of God, in the conversion of the individual, in prayer, and in using spiritual means for spiritual work.
