and was raised to life for our justification.

Romans 1.1 - 3.20 What’s wrong with us
Romans 3.21 - 4.25 How we become the friends of God
Romans 5 – 8 The freedom God’s friends experience

A. PAUL’S STORYTELLING [23-24a]

The way Paul tells this story highlights several truths:

1. The whole Bible speaks to us today [15.4]

2. The whole Bible speaks about sovereign grace

3. The whole Bible speaks about faith

B. ABRAHAM’S EXPERIENCE [24b]

Abraham’s faith and our faith is the same kind of faith.

1. He believed God

2. He believed in the God who brings life out of death

C. GOD’S REDEEMER [25]

What God has done for us in His Son Jesus Christ:

1. Jesus was delivered over to death for our sins

What if Jesus had not died? Where would you be?

2. Jesus was raised to life for our justification

What if Jesus had not been raised? Where would you be?

John Olson
