Paul is writing a letter to share with us the gospel of God.
This gospel has gripped Paul’s heart…has it gripped ours?

A. A HEART FOR THE GOSPEL [1-7]

1. Paul describes himself

2. Paul describes the gospel of God

a. Promised through the prophets of the OT

b. Focused on a person: God’s Son

1) The Christmas story: born a descendant of David
2) The Easter story: the resurrection from the dead
3) The Name of Jesus

B. A HEART FOR PEOPLE [8-15]

1. Paul knows them to be Christians

2. Paul knows them ALL to be Christians

3. Paul loves them and longs to be with them

C. A HEART FOR GOSPEL PEOPLE [16-17]

1. I am not ASHAMED

2. I am not ashamed of the GOSPEL

3. I am not ashamed…for it is the POWER OF GOD

a. GOD’S power
b. God’s power TO SAVE
c. God’s power for ALL who believe
d. God’s power for all who BELIEVE
e. God’s power to REVEAL GOD’S RIGHTEOUSNESS
