A. GOD’S GRACEOUS WORD

1. God spoke to Nebuchadnezzar

2. God spoke to Belshazzar

3. God speaks to us

B. GOD’S SEVERE MERCY

Hebrews 12.5-6, 11

God whispers to us in our pleasures,
speaks to us in our conscience,
but shouts in our pains:

3. God sometimes has to shout at us

All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful,
but sorrowful;
yet to those who have been trained by it,
afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.
