From God’s Word: Study that we might know God’s will

Sunday school class for next week leads us into God’s Word in the view of our money and how we choose its needed and best use. Some of you will not to be able to attend, so let us give you some guidance for your personal study.

Money for the Christian must be looked at strictly as a tool, not as and objective. We all have our own amount of money to use wisely. During this time we are to determine how we are to participate in our planned funds for the Church changes. It is our study of God’s Word that will help us to discern the amount to give. Our hearts are to be free and joyous in our decision. In Colossians 3:23 it says, “Whatever you do, do it with all your heart for the Lord, not men, for your reward cometh from the Lord.”

Here are three passages we suggest for your study:

    1. Matthew 6:31: Place yourself before the Lord, and all your needs will be given to you. Ask yourself honestly what are your worries about money?

    2. 2 Peter 1:3: The divine power has given us everything we need for life and holiness. What is Peter telling us? (note he uses the past tense)

    3. 1 Timothy 6:17: We are not to put our hope in our monies, which is uncertain, but to put our hope in God. ask yourself, Why?

Quotes of note...

I believe in Christianity as I believe that the Sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.
