Hebrews 7 Able to Save Forever

Jesus rules forever [1.8]
Jesus is able to save forever [5.6; 6.20; 7.17, 21, 24, 25]
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever [13.8]

A. WHO IS MELCHIZEDEK?

1. A man who appears to live forever [1-10]

a. No birth records
b. No death record

2. A man appointed by God to be priest [11-22]

a. Not by Levitical descent
b. But by an oath from God

B. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR JESUS?

1. Jesus is a priest forever [23-24]

I never have to stand alone before a holy God.

2. Jesus lives forever [25a]

Death is no obstacle; He’s always there for me to talk to.

3. Jesus intercedes forever [25b]

Someone is always praying for me.

4. Jesus is exalted forever [26-27]

Jesus never gets frustrated with me or tired of helping me.

5. Jesus has paid for our sins forever [27]

Jesus pays for all the damage I’ve done.

C. WHAT SHOULD I NOW DO?

1. Live in the light of this good news

2. Share this good news with others
